My name is Matt Yoder, I’m 39 years old, and I have been a teacher for 13 years, with
the past 10 years at East Lycoming School District where I teach High School Business
courses such as Personal Finance, Accounting and Business Law. I live just north of
Orangeville, and am a resident of Benton Area School District. My wife’s name is Sara –
she’s a Nurse Practitioner for Geisinger, and we have 2 young children ages 9 and 6.
I also serve as the Vice President of the Benton Area School District school board. In this
capacity, I have had many instances of analyzing information brought before me,
interpreting evidence, and making a lawful, educated decision. I have been a part of
discipline hearings where my stance has always been, FIRM, BUT FAIR.
As a lifelong educator, I have the ability to read between the lines and issue discipline
when necessary and deserving. I also share compassion to those who have been

I attended Albright College, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration concentrating in Finance and Marketing. I also earned my Business
Education teaching certification so that I could be a teacher. I completed my Master’s in
Business Education at Bloomsburg University and am currently in the process of earning
my Master’s in Business Administration from LSU Shreveport.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife attending our kids’ activities and
